Tinubu mourns Ubah

President Bola Tinubu has condoled the family, friends, colleagues, government, and people of Anambra State, and the National Assembly over the passage of Senator Ifeanyi Ubah.

Ubah, an All Progressives Congress chieftain who represented Anambra South Senatorial District in the Senate until his death, reportedly left for London, the United Kingdom, two days ago. He passed on there. He was aged 52.

An oil magnate, and CEO/MD of Capital Oil Nigeria Ltd, Ubah was the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Petroleum Resources, Downstream.

The Senate Committee on Public Affairs chairman, Senator Yemi Adaramodu, confirmed Ubah’s passage to BusinessDay on Saturday morning.

In a statement by the Special Adviser to the President (Media & Publicity), Ajuri Ngelale, the president described the deceased as a renowned businessman and politician.

He commiserated with the friends and colleagues of the late Senator, the National Assembly, and the government and people of Anambra State over this sad loss.

Tinubu prayed for the repose of the soul of the departed lawmaker, as well as for strength and comfort to his family.

Kalu: Ubah’s death was a great loss to South-East, Nigeria
The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt Hon. Benjamin Kalu has expressed shock and sadness over the death of the Senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District in the Senate, and CEO/MD of Capital Oil Nigeria Ltd, Senator Ifeanyi Ubah.

In a condolence message by his SA Press Affairs, Udora Orizu, Kalu described the late lawmaker as a patriot and philanthropist, who made remarkable strides in the parliament, media, sports, and petroleum downstream industry.

He recalled his determination to bring about a change in the fortunes of the people of his zone and the entire nation.

Kalu noted that Ubah contributed immensely to the socio-economic development of Nigeria and through his Company Capital Oil Nigeria Ltd, football club, Ifeanyi Ubah FC of Nnewi, Ifeanyi Ubah Foundation, Authority Newspaper, and other numerous businesses employed many Nigerians.

He said the Senator’s death is a great loss to Ndigbo, and Nigeria, stressing that he will be sorely missed.

Also, he condoled his immediate family, the All Progressive Congress (APC), the people of Nnewi, and the Anambra State Government over the irreparable loss.

Ubah recently joined a list of notable politicians from the South-East who commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for signing the South-East Development Commission bill into law.
