The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 general election, Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran, aka Jandor, visited the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Monday, where he met with President Bola Tinubu.
The meeting with Tinubu was not disclosed by Presidency officials, but sources said that the private visit by Jandor took place between 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm.
On March 4th, 2025, Jandor announced his resignation from the PDP, citing persistent anti-party activities, internal sabotage, and lack of discipline within the party.
At a recent media briefing in Lagos, he alleged that some party leaders saw his candidacy as a threat to their interest and worked against him, citing instances of attacks on his campaign and condemnation from party leaders.
He accused the Lagos State Chairman of the party, Philip Aivoji, of allegedly issuing a false statement on all PDP platforms, claiming that he (Jandor) had withdrawn from the election.
Jandor also accused Olabode George, a leader of the party in Lagos State, of openly declaring support for the gubernatorial candidate of another party and advising Lagos residents not to vote for the PDP.
