Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke
The Chairman of Osun State Universal Basic Education Board, Hon. Ibukun Fadipe has urged Nigerians to shun greed and ostentatious living.
This is to stop sending wrong signals to the youths at the expense of other core values that are needed for the growth and development of Nigeria.
He gave this admonition while receiving the State Resident Commissioner of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission(ICPC), and his team at the State SUBEB Headquarters, Osogbo.
Fadipe, while applauding the series of efforts being put in place by ICPC and other Anti Corruption Agencies of the Federal Government to fight corruption also admonished the need for all Nigerians to desist from crazy means of getting rich at all cost.
The SUBEB Chairman, who expressed delight at the visit, described the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke as having zero tolerance for corruption.
Fadipe particularly bemoaned the rate at which the Nigerian youths are always in a rat race to amass wealth through crude means like internet fraud and other untoward acts, which according to him cast aspersion on the corporate image of the country.
He, however, gave his assurance of joining hands together with ICPC on a sensitization crusade to all schools across the State so as to catch them young in the fight against corruption.
Also speaking, was the ICPC Osun State Resident Commissioner, Mr Ademola Bakare (Fsi), who took time to speak on how and why the fight against corruption should be the responsibility of every Nigerian.
The Osun State Antigraft Agency boss, Mr. Bakare then solicited the support of Osun SUBEB in carrying out a sensitization crusade to Schools across the State on the war against corruption, while noting that SUBEB is a critical Stakeholder in the fight against corruption.
In their separate remarks, the Osun SUBEB Full-time member 1, Hon. Fadehan Adebanji; Full-time member 2, Hon. Tiamiyu Ganiyu and Director Quality Assurance, Mr. Ganiyu Majeed, appreciated the team of ICPC led by Mr. Ademola Bakare. They stressed that the anti-corruption sensitization will, no doubt, go a long way in helping teachers to start teaching and inculcating the act of discipline in school children, especially at the basic levels.
Earlier In his welcome address, the Executive Secretary of SUBEB, Mr Yahaya Bakare thanked the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission Officials for the visit to Osun SUBEB, with an assurance that the Agency is ever ready to promote the laudable visions and missions of the Commission.
