Southern governors meet in Enugu Thursday

Enugu State Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi will on Thursday host his colleagues from the 16 Southern States.

The meeting, billed for the Government House in Enugu, will be the third of such interactions among 17 southern governors.

They (governors) had their first meeting in Asaba, Delta State, where they took far-reaching decisions on issues of national and regional importance, including state police, open grazing and zoning of president.

The governors also appointed Ondo State Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu as their coordinator.

At their second parley in at the Lagos House, Alausa, Ikeja, the governors restated their position on the Asaba resolution and agreed to enact bills on Anti-Open Grazing on or before September 1.

As at yesterday when Ugwuanyi assented to the bill, almost all the states in the South, had signed the bills into law.
