Shock as buffalo kills popular Osun hunter

Shock tore through Osun State as news of the baffling killing of a popular hunter by a buffalo, spread.

The incident sparked off a swift action from members of the Hunters Group of Nigeria (HGN), in the state who later tracked and killed the wild animal turned murderer.

The deceased known as “Alfa Elefon,” was reportedly attacked by the wild buffalo during a hunting expedition deep in the forest on June 25.

He was said to have sustained severe injuries. Despite efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead.

His remains were buried the following day in accordance with Islamic rites.

In the wake of his death, the shocking event sent waves of grief across the local community, prompting an immediate response from the leadership of the HGN.

According to community sources, members of the Hunters Group launched a manhunt for the animal responsible for the attack.

The operation was led by Chief Balogun Nureni Hammed, popularly known as A-K LEADER, the Osun State Commander of the Hunters Group of Nigeria.

A team of experienced hunters combed the forest, eventually locating and neutralizing the wild buffalo to prevent further danger to nearby settlements.

The swift action has been praised by residents, who say the response has helped restore a sense of safety in the area.
