–  as Elizade University holds free medical outreach to mark founder’s

In a heartwarming demonstration of philanthropy and compassion, Elizade University has organized a Free Medical Outreach for the people of Ilara-Mokin to commemorate the 87th birthday of its visionary Founder and renowned industrialist, Chief Michael Ade. Ojo, OON.

This was in a statement by the University’s spokesman, Mr. Williams Olufunmi.

According to the statement,  “The outreach, which held at the Ilara-Mokin New Palace Hall, brought together hundreds of community members who received free medical consultations, screenings, medications, and health advice from a team of qualified medical personnel coordinated by the University’s Health Centre and Faculty of Allied Health Sciences.”

It reported Ade. Ojo as saying that he “chose to celebrate his birthday in a way that gives back to the community that nurtured him, emphasizing that “service to humanity is the essence of life.”

“I have lived by the principle that life is not measured by what we acquire, but by what we are able to give for the good of others. This medical outreach is a small way of showing love and care to our people. I want this legacy of service to be passed on to the next generation,”

Olufunmi stated, ‘Describing health as the foundation of individual and community development, the Founder noted that the initiative was a direct reflection of Elizade University’s commitment to community engagement and social responsibility.

“He commended the University for being very thoughtful and pro-active towards community needs and also advised the students not to relent in their studies.'”

Also, he said that, the University’s Acting Vice Chancellor,  Prof Sunday Babatunde Adeyemo, in his remarks, said ‘the outreach was an extension of the University’s mission to contribute meaningfully to society beyond academic pursuits.”

He also reported the University’s Registrar, Chief Omololu Adegbenro , describing the outreach as a reflection of the Founder’s commitment to sustainable community development aimed at meeting the people at their points of need.

Adegbenro reportedly said, “The Founder’s values of compassion, service, and integrity continue to guide us.

‘What we are witnessing today is not just a birthday celebration, but a reaffirmation of the values on which Elizade University stands”.

Olufunmi added; “Many of the beneficiaries, including the elderly and children, expressed deep gratitude for the opportunity, describing the outreach as timely and impactful.

“The Alara, Oba Abiodun Aderemi Adefehinti, described the gesture as “life-saving,” saying, “At 87, Baba continues to think of us and provide for us. We are grateful for his heart of gold.”

“The medical outreach included services such as blood pressure checks, malaria tests, blood sugar screenings, distribution of essential drugs, as well as general consultations — all provided at no cost to the beneficiaries.

‘The Chief Medical Director of Elizade University Clinic who is leader of the team, Dr Lanre Olatunde said they were inspired by Chief Ade. Ojo’s relentless and selfless service to mankind.

“The outreach formed part of , the celebration of Chief Ade. Ojo’s 87th birthday and Founder’s Day at Elizade University, which also featured reflections on the Founder’s lifelong contributions to education, industry, and humanity.

‘Chief Ade. Ojo, Founder of Elizade Nigeria Limited, and Elizade University, has long been revered for his unwavering dedication to community development and human capacity building, with this latest outreach serving as yet another testament to his enduring legacy of service.”
