Senator Mudashiru Husain has congratulated the former Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adejare Bello, on his appointment as the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife.
In a congratulatory message issued on Thursday, Husain described the appointment as well deserved, noting that Bello’s record of service, vast experience in public administration, and proven leadership credentials make him eminently qualified for the important national assignment.
The former lawmaker stated that the new Pro-Chancellor possesses the capacity, competence and integrity required to provide sound leadership for the institution’s governing council, particularly in areas of policy formulation, financial oversight, property management and overall institutional governance.
He expressed confidence that Bello would bring his wealth of experience to bear in promoting transparency, accountability and strict adherence to national laws and standards guiding the administration of tertiary institutions.
Husain also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for finding Bello worthy of the appointment, describing the decision as another demonstration of the President’s commitment to appointing competent and credible individuals into positions of national responsibility.
He equally appreciated the leadership role of the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy and leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Alhaji Isiaka Adegboyega Oyetola, for his steadfast guidance which, according to him, continues to promote unity, stability and progress within the party in the state.
The former senator, however, wished Bello a successful and impactful tenure in his new role while expressing optimism that his leadership would further strengthen the administration and global standing of Obafemi Awolowo University.
