Self praise

Experiences

By Michael Newman

Self-praise is almost always an enemy.

It springs from “a lack of true self-assessment” and it can be inimical to growth because it breeds complacency.

We are failures in many facets of life.

Patting ourselves on the back or pretending that all is well are surefire pathways to ensuring that we never rise to a level where we’re truly constantly growing and where our fruits are striking evidence of the myriad gifts that’s been invested in our spirits.

Self-praise may be a mask for inferiority complex, it may be an act of compensation — seeing as deep down, we know how far we are from the ideals we are destined to bring forth!

We are failures!

Let’s grasp the sobering reality and start building anew.
