Road crash: ROSOWA condoles NUJ, bereaved families

The President of the Road Safety Officers Wives Association (ROSOWA), Hajiya Dr. Nafisa Shehu Mohammed, has expressed deep sympathy with the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) over the tragic loss of six of its members in a recent road traffic crash.

She also commiserated with the families of the two other victims who lost their lives in the incident involving renowned international sports icon, Anthony Joshua.

In the same vein, the ROSOWA President commended personnel of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) for their swift, professional and courageous response at the crash scene, particularly for the prompt rescue of the sports icon and the effective management of the incident.

She noted that the rapid deployment and efficiency of the rescue operation clearly reflected the high level of preparedness, discipline and unwavering commitment of FRSC officers to saving lives.

Hajiya Dr. Nafisa expressed delight at the overwhelming positive reactions from members of the public, both locally and internationally, describing them as a strong endorsement of the professionalism, responsiveness and life-saving capacity of FRSC personnel.

According to her, the conduct of the officers at the scene ensured effective traffic control, prevented further danger to other road users and facilitated prompt medical attention for victims who required it.

She further emphasised that the sacrifices made by FRSC personnel are shared by their families, assuring officers of ROSOWA’s continued support.

She also urged motorists to strictly obey traffic regulations, particularly speed limits, stressing that responsible driving remains critical to preventing avoidable road crashes.

While once again commiserating with the families of the deceased victims, Dr. Nafisa wished Anthony Joshua a speedy and full recovery.
