It was carnival-like on Wednesday as residents of Osogbo, Osun State capital, mobbed Governor Ademola Adeleke, who hit the streets after being picked as the Accord Party’s candidate in the state’s coming governorship election.

Indeed, Osogbo literally exploded in excitement as the governor’s convoy drove round the streets with a smiling Adeleke, holding his new party’s flag, waving, and pumping the air with his fist at the cheering and ecstastic crowd, who spontaneously lined the streets.

From Stadium to Okefia, Olaiya to Alekuwodo, the people didn’t just cheer… they moved with the governor, shouting “Accord! Ibo! Imole!”
