There is a tendency by most talented people to rate their talents over and above their personal manners.
Forgetting that nothing can substitute for good manners in life.
Our talents are good as gifts from God to us sons and daughters of men. But good manners, which are self generated by each of us, have no replacement in itself.
You can be the best Footballer around, yet there could be nothing worthy to say about the fellow in terms of good manners.
You can be the best Mathematician in the class, and yet with no good reputation whatsoever with people around you.
A man can be the best Lawyer in the city, and yet what the majority of the people will still know about him is that he is a City Fraudstar.
A man may be the best Surgeon in the entire West of the Country, yet the worst nymphomaniac around, to a point that men will never agree to leave their wives under his professional care for a minute!
Your manners is a critical aspect of you. As we say in this part of the country : “the beautiful woman who weighs nothing on the scale of good manners, cannot turn around to blame anyone for not finding a place in a man’s house”.
If a man is gifted yet mannerless, such a fellow goes no where, as Americans will say : “dead on arrival”.
Whatever level gift takes a man to, it will take good manners to sustain and keep him up there.
Several people have celebrated their gifts and talents over good manners, and are today blown away by the storms of rejection.
