Police invite applications to obtain, renew tinted glass permit in Osun

Osun State

The police in Osun State have asked vehicle owners interested in tinted glass to forward applications for permit.

This follows the extension of issuance of tinted glasse permit by the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun

The IGP had last week extended the grace period for enforcing the Tinted Glass Permit requirement across the nation

The new deadline is now August 12, 2025.

Speaking in an interview in Osogbo, the state police command’s spokesman, DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, said the extension was sequel to public concerns and feedback on the recently reactivated digital Tinted Glass Permit application process.

According to him, the Nigeria Police Force reaffirms its commitment to transparent, inclusive, and citizen-focused policing, adding that public input plays a key role in improving the system to ensure it is user-friendly, secure, and accessible.

The extended grace period allows more time for system upgrades and application process improvements.

He called on the general public who are yet to apply for their tinted permit to do within the time frame giving by IGP Egbetokun.

His words, “The NPF is currently enhancing both physical and online options with streamlined verification steps to reduce delays and eliminate unnecessary hassles.

“Citizens are reminded to apply or renew permits via possap.gov.ng, and to report any unauthorized charges or extortion to police authorities or through the hotline: 0916996700”.
