The Nigeria Police Force has presented cheques worth over ₦24 million to families of officers who died or were injured in the line of duty, in Nasarawa State.

Commissioner of Police, Nasarawa State Command, Shettima Mohammed, presented the cheques.

It said ₦24,321,077.31 was disbursed under the Nigeria Police Force’s Family Welfare Scheme, Group Life Assurance, and Group Personal Accident Scheme.

Mohammed, who presented the cheques on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, said the gesture was part of the Force’s continued commitment to the welfare of its personnel and their families.

He said, “This is not just a cheque; it’s a message of remembrance and appreciation.

“Let it serve as a foundation for something meaningful, a legacy that honours the memory of our fallen heroes”.

Mohammed also advised beneficiaries to manage the funds wisely and channel them into ventures that would provide long-term support for their families.
