Police arrest burglars, recover stolen items in Osun

The Police, in collaboration with residents of Abidogun community in Ota-Efun,  Osun State, have arrested a suspected serial housebreaker and two of his accomplices.

The 42-years old principal suspect was reportedly caught breaking into a residence. Items allegedly stolen from the premises included one LG plasma TV; one 6kg gas cylinder; and one umbrella.

Confirming the arrest, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, said the suspect was caught at the scene with the assistance of community members who responded swiftly to the victim’s distress call.

Following a thorough investigation, two other suspects aged 57 and 62, were also arrested.

Ojelabi said the duo are suspected to be receivers of the stolen items.

He said that the suspects had been terrorising the Abidogun and Kelebe communities, adding that during interrogation, they confessed to multiple incidents of housebreaking and theft in the area.

He also disclosed that four other victims had positively identified the suspects as the perpetrators of previous burglaries reported on April 24, 2025.
