Osun State Government’s intervention in roads and other infrastructural development across the state has been commended by residents.
Reportedly, residents of Peter Ajibola around Alekuwodo area in Osogbo, the state capital, appreciated Governor Ademola Adeleke for the rehabilitation of the road.
They also commended him for the entire rehabilitation of other roads in the town and across the State,
The visibly excited residents expressed their appreciation to the Governor when a team of journalists went on an inspection of the project to see the extent of work done so far.
The residents who sang and danced in appreciation of the Governor said the road has been a challenge for them over the years as it has hindered the free flow of traffic as well as hampered business activities in the area.
In the words of an actogenerian, Alhaji Fatai Sanusi who was met sitting in front of his house ” This road that is being rehabilitated has caused serious challenges for residents of this area over the years.
“We can’t thank Governor Adeleke enough for coming to our rescue through this rehabilitation,s you can see, both the young and old, women and children are excited. This is marvelous in our sight, to say we are happy is an understatement.
Also sharing the sentiments of Alhaji Sanusi was Madam Sidikatu Ayanfe who said the Governor has displayed an uncommon zeal and passion to better the lives of the people.
She said she was excited that the Governor is keeping to his promises which he made during electioneering campaign that he will put smiles on the faces of the people.
In a related development the Permanent Secretary, Ministry Of Rural Development and Community Affairs, Mr Richard Oyegbami has said the government is committed to Rural development
He stated this during a working visit to the headquarters of Osun State Community and Social Development Agency.
According to him the agency under the leadership of the General Manager, Mrs. Abokede Aderonke is richly positioned to touch lives positively across the state, courtesy of the far reaching intervention of the government of Senator Ademola Adeleke.
The Permanent Secretary noted that the construction and equipping of skill acquisition center at jonaped Ede, drilling and renovation of motorized bore holes, at Oba Oke and kuku, isale Imole, Ilobu, renovation, furnishing and equipping of science laboratory at Oke Community High school Ode Omu as well as rehabilitation of two blocks of 8 class rooms, soak away toilets and upgrading and hand pump boreholes at Dagbolu Community Primary school among many others are testimonies of the resolve of the government to bring succour to the people
He commended the general manager and her management team for their zeal, commitment and high sense of responsibility in service delivery at record time, urging them to see themselves as agent of positive change in the state.
Oyegbami ,However,’ noted that the development drive of the present administration in the State will continue until all rural communities feels the impact of Government.
