Members of the National and State Assemblies elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from Osun State have unanimously endorsed Governor Ademola Adeleke for a second term, citing his performance in governance, workers’ welfare, and infrastructure development.

The endorsement formed part of resolutions reached at a stakeholders’ meeting held Saturday at Laim Hotel and conveyed in a communiqué signed by Senator Lere Oyewumi on behalf of the caucus.
Confidence in Adeleke’s Leadership

The lawmakers commended the governor for sustaining salary payments and continuing development projects despite financial pressures linked to the ongoing Local Government crisis

They said his performance across key sectors — including healthcare, education, and infrastructure — justified their unanimous backing for continuity in office.
Vote of Confidence in Party Structure

The caucus also passed a vote of confidence in the state party leadership under Sunday Bisi, affirming the legitimacy of the State Working Committee, local government executives, and ward structures.

They dismissed any parallel leadership claims, stressing that such groups lack recognition from elected PDP lawmakers.
LG Crisis and Federal Appeal
On the protracted Local Government dispute, the lawmakers condemned what they described as the continued occupation of council secretariats by members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) whose elections were nullified by the courts.

They warned that the withholding of council allocations was worsening hardship for grassroots workers and institutions, urging President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to intervene by directing that funds be paid to constitutionally recognised authorities and that alleged illegal occupants vacate to prevent unrest.

The communiqué further called on the Inspector General of Police to ensure neutrality and professionalism, alleging that security operatives were aiding the disputed occupation of council secretariats.

Reaffirming commitment to constitutional order and accountability, the lawmakers urged residents of Osun to remain calm, law-abiding, and supportive of democratic institutions.

The resolutions underscore the PDP caucus’ effort to project unity within the party while intensifying pressure for a political and legal resolution to the Local Government impasse in the state.
