The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has showered encomiums on Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, describing his legacy laid in his theww years in office as outstanding and indelible.
In fact, it described the governor as one of the most transformative leaders in the party’s history, declaring that his impact on governance and political development in the state “will never be forgotten.”
The party, in a statement on Wednesday by the State Chairman, Hon. Sunday Bisi, said that Adeleke’s leadership style, defined by compassion, performance, humility and people-centered policies, has restored public confidence in both the PDP and government.
It noted that his influence predates his emergence as governor, recalling his years of mobilising the grassroots, stabilising party structures and rekindling hope among citizens who felt abandoned by previous administrations.
The party said, “Governor Adeleke changed the tone of governance in Osun State.
“He restored dignity to party members, re-energised our structures, and gave leadership a human face. His empathy, humility and decisive governance revived the PDP and brought unity and renewed confidence to our members.”
According to the PDP, Adeleke’s sincerity and ability to connect with ordinary people, not privilege, fueled his political rise and strengthened the party’s resolve leading to its victory in the 2022 governorship election.
The statement further highlighted the governor’s achievements across infrastructure, health, workers’ welfare and local government reforms, noting that his administration has set a new benchmark for good governance in Osun State. The party said Adeleke’s transparency and commitment to the common good have positioned him as a model for future leaders.
“Governor Adeleke is more than a public office holder; he is a movement,” Bisi said. “No internal or external forces can erase the profound imprint he has left on the PDP and the political consciousness of Osun citizens.”
The PDP chairman described the governor as a unifier and a builder whose sacrifices and dedication have written a “shining chapter” in the history of the party.
The statement affirmed that Adeleke’s name “remains permanently etched in the hearts of PDP members” for his contributions to party unity and state development.
