All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Osun State, Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of the Akire of Ikire, Oba Olatunde Falabi, Lambeloye III, describing his transition as the end of an era.

He extended his heartfelt condolences to the immediate family of the late monarch, the Ikire Traditional Council, sons and daughters of Ikire, the entire Irewole royal family, and members of the Osun State Council of Obas over the monumental loss.

Oba Falabi reportedly passed away at the weekend after a brief illness. The official announcement of his demise was made on Monday evening by the Irewole Local Government Chairperson, Dr. Esther Okunola.

In a personally signed statement. Oyebamiji described the departed monarch as a pillar of peace, unity, and development whose reign brought remarkable transformation to Ikireland and its environs.

“I received the news of the death of our revered Kabiyesi — an elder statesman and astute professional — with a rude shock,” Oyebamiji stated. “Oba Falabi was not just a monarch, but a symbol of unity and cohesion. He was the epitome of royalty, integrity, discipline, and dignity.”

The APC flagbearer noted that during his over three decades on the throne, the late monarch recorded monumental achievements that significantly advanced the socio-economic and cultural development of Ikire.

“As custodian of our culture, tradition, and heritage, Kabiyesi’s reign witnessed tremendous growth and unprecedented development. His indelible footprints remain visible across Ikireland. He was a father to all, irrespective of sociopolitical or economic affiliations, and this greatly strengthened peace, stability, and harmony in our land,” he added.

Oyebamiji further described the late royal father as selfless, compassionate, and deeply committed to the progress of his people, saying his legacy would continue to inspire future generations.

“On behalf of my family, I condole the immediate family, sons and daughters of Ikire, the entire Ikire royal family, residents of the ancient town, and members of the Osun State Council of Obas. I pray that Almighty God grants them the fortitude and strength to bear this irreparable loss,” Oyebamiji said.

The passing of Oba Olatunde Falabi marks the close of a distinguished reign widely regarded as transformative in the history of Ikire.
