Owena Press, PSTI synergise on training

Ondo State
  • Adetula reels out Owena Press’ robust developments

Owena Press Limited, publisher of The Hope, has challenged the Director General of the Public Service Training Institution, PSTI, Ilara-Mokin in Ifedore Local government area of Ondo State, Mr Kayode Ogundele to fashion initiatives capable of making the institute a toast of organisations interested in training  their manpower.

It threw the challenge through its Chairman/Editor in Chief, Sir Ademola Adetula, when the Director-General led members of the institute’s management team on a courtesy visit to the company.

Describing PSTI as a knowledge driven industry, Adetula noted that the institute needs to design programmes through which professionals in various disciplines across the country could be further trained for capacity building and to provide high level and other training like the Lagos Business School.

He called on the Director-General to form a synergy with universities, professional bodies, public and private organisations to send their workers to the institute for training.

Alsso, he noted that the inability of any  organization to upgrade the knowledge of its workers from time to time is the greatest  tragedy that could befall such an organisation.

However, Adetula commended the Director-General for not behaving like a bureaucrat who would sit in the office and expect everything to fall on their laps,  but launched out in marketing  the institute and mobilising for patronage.

He noted that since he assumed office in October last year, he had sent many workers in Owena  Press on various training programmes being a knowledge industry to upgrade workers’ knowledge base in the company.

He noted that this move has been yielding positive results, as he promised to partner with PSTI in sending more workers for training at the institute if they have programmes relevant  to media practice.

He told the visitors about other robust positive developments in Owena Press to include expansion of the newspaper’s coverage through its online publication (www.thehopenewspaper.com) and circulation of its copies to Osun and Ekiti States, and all the 18 local government areas of Ondo State.

Earlier, the PSTI DG, Mr Ogundele had solicited for Owena Press’ assistance in publicising the institute’s activities and to also partronise it by sending its staff for training.

He said the state government has invested a lot in the PSTI with state -of-the- art facilities in ICT and others which make it the best training centre in the state.

Ogundele listed various institutions and organizations that are now doing business with the institute.

He  noted that it is the responsibility of the institute to offer services which could enhance the knowledge of workers in the state with the ultimate aim of developing the state.
