Men distort everything they have
And reject every helping staff
On which they were to have relied…
Because of indolence and pride.
Men think wise and clever they are,
And thus their way to ascent bar,
When they try with passion to twist
Those concepts that now still exist.
Such are otherwise clever men.
If you are wise avoid them then –
They’re detrimental to the Truth,
Confusing both the old and youth.
To the Truth should you awaken,
As in the Scriptures is written,
That if any man thinks he knows
He knows nought in the way he goes.
Be simple, unassuming too,
And humble, ever being true.
Then Heaven’s light will come your way
And true knowledge to you convey.
