Osun youths endorse Adeleke for second term

Youths in Osun State under the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) have endorsed Governor Ademola Adeleke for a second term in office.

They endorsed him at the 2025 International Youth Day celebration held at Fakunle Comprehensive High School, Osogbo.

The event drew thousands of enthusiastic youths and key dignitaries from across the state.

Representing the Governor, the Deputy Governor, Prince Kola Adewusi delivered a goodwill message that congratulated young people across Osun and the globe, praising their creativity, resilience, and vital role in the state’s development.

The governor’s message was aligned with the global theme of the 2025 International Youth Day: “Youth Advancing Multilateral Cooperation through Technology and Partnership.”

He urged the youth to embrace innovation, digital collaboration, and global cooperation to tackle major challenges such as climate change, public health crises, and social inequality.

Adeleke reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to youth development, citing landmark initiatives like the recruitment of 10,000 Imole Youth Corps members, who are actively supporting critical sectors including health, education, security, and the environment.

He also highlighted the appointment of young people into strategic positions in his administration, underscoring his inclusive governance style.

In his welcome address, Hon. Moshood Olagunju, Commissioner for Youth Affairs, encouraged the youth to remain disciplined, avoid social vices, and be shining ambassadors of Osun State.

The celebration attracted several high-profile guests, including:Oba (Dr.) Michael Odunayo Ajayi, Arowotawaya II, the Elerimo of Erimo-Ijesa; Hon. Biyi Odunlade, Commissioner for Political and Inter-Governmental Affairs;Hon. Kashope Abolarin, Chairman, Osun State House of Assembly Committee on Health; top civil servants, youth leaders, and organization representatives.

Highlights of the day included a colorful march past, presentation of prizes to outstanding youth organizations, and the public declaration of support for Governor Adeleke’s second-term bid—solidifying his strong youth backing across the state.
