Detectives from Osun State Police Command have launched an investigation into the sudden and mysterious death of a young woman, Bidemi Omole, reportedly at her boyfriend’s residence in Esa-Oke.
Bidemi was said to have visited her boyfriend at his home in the Oke-Esa area of the town on Friday night when she passed away.
Eyewitnesses said had planned to attend a vigil later that evening, a routine she regularly observed.
But, shortly after her arrival at the residence around 9:30 p.m., she reportedly suddenly took ill.
She was said to be vomiting and foaming from the mouth, prompting immediate efforts to rush her to a nearby hospital; but sadly, she was pronounced dead before arrival.
The unexpected nature of her illness and swift deterioration sparked panic and confusion in the neighborhood. Residents gathered at the scene, demanding answers and raising concerns about the circumstances surrounding her death.
However, the timely intervention of the police helped restore calm and prevent further unrest. Law enforcement officers cordoned off the area and took control of the situation.
Confirming the incident, Osun State Police Command’s spokesmam, DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, said the case is currently under investigation.
His words, “The deceased was reported to have developed sudden complications shortly after arriving at her boyfriend’s residence. She was taken to the hospital but unfortunately died on the way. The boyfriend is currently in custody and assisting investigators.” Oj
He further disclosed that a comprehensive autopsy will be carried out to determine the actual cause of death, as detectives continue to gather evidence.
The police assured the public that the investigation would be thorough, transparent, and aimed at uncovering the truth behind the incident.
