The Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Gotan, gave the assurance in a public service announcement issued today stating that comprehensive security measures have been put in place across the state before, during and after the Yuletide period.

According to the Command, Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) and Tactical Commanders have been directed to intensify patrols within their areas of responsibility, conduct constant raids on identified black spots, and ensure effective visibility policing to deter criminal activities.

Gotan also ordered the deployment of both conventional and tactical police units across major highways, worship centres, markets, recreational centres and other public places to maintain law and order throughout the festive season.

In a move to strengthen police-community partnership, the Commissioner of Police rolled out official contact numbers of Area Commands and DPOs across the state to enable residents easily reach the police for prompt response, intelligence sharing and emergency assistance.

Residents were encouraged to report suspicious movements or activities through the Control Room numbers: 08039537995 and 08123823981, or the Complaint Response Unit (CRU) numbers: 08035143235, 08066286549 and 08030732461.
