Osun NUJ honors PDP chair as Adeleke tasks journalists on nation building

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has çommended members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, for their roles in shaping Nigeria for the good of the citizens.

He particularly  praised them for standing as the conscience of the society with their professional reportage of the fuel subsidy and other policies of government.

He admonished them not to abandon their watchdog task of seeking aabetter society in the interest of all without discrimination.

Adeleke’s, who was represented by the commissioner for information, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi, at the awards ceremony organized by the Osun State Chapter of the NUJ, urged journalists in the country to do more against usual political patronage and interrogate major policies of government affecting the  well-being of Nigerians.

The union on Monday, 23rd of October 2023 bestowed a meritorious award of excellence of Grassroot Politician of the Year on the state chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Hon Sunday Bisi.

Reacting to the honor done him, he commended Journalists for what he described as their watchdog roles in the society, without which the world would have collapsed helplessly into a state of irredeemable anarchy.

Urging journalists to live above board in line with the dictates of their profession, the PDP chairman assured the Journalists of his commitment to those attributes that qualified him for the prestigious award, especially when such was coming from a reputable organization as the NUJ.

Bisi expressed gratitude to the people of Osun State for standing by the PDP to reclaim governance of the state after 12 years, asking them for continued support for the party and the Adeleke-led administration.

He enjoined Nigerian journalists to do everything within their powers as member of the fourth estate of the realm to make Nigeria a better place to live for all.

The chairman queried a situation where Rwanda and other counties with awkward history in the world now fare better than a naturally endowed country like Nigeria.
