Osun State House of Assembly has rounded up work on the passage of the amendments to the Osun State Local Government Areas Creation and Administration, Amendments(No.7) Bill, 2024.
The bill provided for elective positions of the Chairman and its executives for proper administration and governance at the local government level.
Also, the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission, Amendment (No.1) Bill, 2024 is to equally fast-track the local government elections and empower the commission to carry out its duties.
The clean copies of the two bills will be forwarded to the Governor for his assent.
Also, on the assembly’s floor, Mr Taye Elutilo was sworn in as the new Permanent Secretary to the Osun Assembly Service Commission following the retirement of Mr Tajudeen Alagbe.
The speaker, Rt. Hon.Adewale Egbedun, after presenting the certificate to the new Permanent Secretary, prayed for God’s guidance in the new position.
In his response, Elutilo thanked the Assembly for taking him to the peak of his career. He pledged to perform well in the new position and move the House of Assembly Service Commission forward.
