Osun launches Imole Wi-Fi free public internet

Osun State Government has launched Imole Wi-Fi, a free public internet service designed to provide residents, students, entrepreneurs, and communities with reliable access to the internet.

The initiative, led by the Office of Innovation, Science, Technology, and Digital Economy under the supervision of the Special Adviser, marks a major step in the state’s digital transformation agenda.

Speaking at the launch, Governor Ademola Adeleke described Imole Wi-Fi as a vital investment in Osun’s digital future.

“Imole Wi-Fi is a gateway to opportunity. With this public digital infrastructure, we are eliminating barriers, connecting communities, and accelerating development across every sector of our state,” the Governor stated.

Also addressing the press, the Special Adviser on Innovation, Science, Technology, and Digital Economy, Mr. Azeez Badmus, emphasized that the launch is the first phase of a broader digital vision:

“This is just the beginning. As we expand Imole Wi-Fi, we will introduce more e-government services and digital tools tailored to different sectors, ensuring every resident benefits from Osun’s digital transformation.”

“Residents can access Imole Wi-Fi at the following locations:Osun State Library, Alphastart HubOsun Mall, Salvation Army Middle School, Osogbo Grammar School, Ministry of Innovation, Science, and Technology, and Digital Economy

“Some of the benefits of the Imole programs are students: Seamless access to e-learning platforms, research materials, and virtual classrooms

” Job Seekers & Small Businesses: Ability to apply for jobs, run businesses online, and access digital tools,healthcare Facilities: Support for telemedicine services and digital patient record systems, farmers: Real-time access to weather forecasts, market prices, and agricultural extension services and communities: Improved security infrastructure through connectivity-enabled emergency and safety systems

The Imole Wi-Fi initiative is a critical part of the Adeleke administration’s effort to promote inclusive digital access, bridge the digital divide, and unlock new opportunities in education, healthcare, business, and public service delivery.
