Osun JUSUN warns members against financial dealings amid strike

Osun State

The Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) in Osun State has warned its members against engaging in any form of financial transaction during the ongoing strike affecting the state judiciary.

It also announced the postponement of the scheduled “I Am Alive” verification exercise for retired judiciary staff on federal pension, attributing the decision to the prevailing strike action.

Particularly, it warned in a statement issued on Thursday following a meeting of the State Executive Council, JUSUN Chairman, Comrade Idris Adedayo Adeniran, that no financial activity should take place within the accounts of the High Court, the Customary Court of Appeal, or the Judicial Service Commission.

“In line with our industrial action, we have resolved that no financial transactions should occur,” the statement read.

The “I Am Alive” verification, originally scheduled for Monday, 6th and Tuesday, 7th October, 2025, was intended for retired judiciary staff on federal pensions. However, the exercise has now been suspended indefinitely owing to the strike.

“We regret to inform all relevant JUSUN members that the upcoming verification exercise will not hold as planned. We urge the Honourable Chief Registrar to notify the expected officers from Abuja to refrain from attending,” Adeniran stated.

To ensure compliance with the strike, the union further directed that no member should enter any judicial premises or office without express permission.

“We advise that no staff member should attempt to enter their office without explicit permission from the union,” the chairman warned.

The directive, he added, is particularly aimed at staff in the salary and accounts departments, noting that the measure is intended to guarantee total adherence to the strike and uphold discipline within the union
