Osun State governor-elect, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has constituted a 37-member Transition Committee to facilitate a smooth transition between the incumbent and the newly elected administration in the state.
This was contained in a statement by the spokesman for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Osun State chapter, Oladele Bamiji, on Tuesday. He said that the transition committee will be inaugurated by Adeleke on Thursday.
Bamiji disclosed that the transition committee is made up of seasoned technocrats, public office holders and experts from diverse fields.
He added that the committee is to be chaired by Dr Muyiwa Oladimeji, a doctor of Nuclear Medicine and a fellow of the Euro Institute of Reticulo-endothelial Biology & Medicare while the director-general of Ademola Adeleke Campaign Organisation, Hon. Sunday Bisi will serve as deputy chairman,
The secretary of the transition committee who is a serving member of the House of Representatives and also a legal practitioner, Hon. Bamidele Salam will be assisted by a project management expert, Adekunle Adepoju.
Adeleke, the PDP candidate, defeated the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and incumbent governor of the State, Gboyega Oyetola, in the July 16 governorship election.
He won 17 of the 30 Local Government Areas (LGAs) while APC candidate Oyetola won in the remaining 13 LGAs, according to results announced by INEC on Sunday morning.
In total, Adeleke polled 403,371 votes while Oyetola scored 375,027 votes.
