The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has promoted and redeployed the Osun State Sector Commander, Assistant Corps Marshal Leye Adegboyega, to serve as the Zonal Commanding Officer in Bauchi.

The posting, approved by the FRSC National Headquarters in Abuja, saw Adegboyega hand over the affairs of the Osun Sector Command to Deputy Corps Commander Akeem Ganiyu, who will oversee operations pending the arrival of a new Sector Commander.

In his valedictory address, Adegboyega expressed gratitude to God for a successful tenure, noting that the Command recorded significant achievements under his leadership.

He also appreciated the FRSC Corps Marshal and management for their guidance and mentorship, which he said enhanced his administrative capacity.

Highlighting his accomplishments, Adegboyega disclosed that the Command reduced road crash fatalities by 43 percent and injuries by 13 percent in 2025 compared to 2024.

He added that enforcement activities improved considerably, with offenders and offences database increasing by 52 percent and 64 percent respectively.

He further noted that strengthened stakeholder engagement led to increased support from partners, including donations of operational and rescue equipment to boost FRSC activities in the state.

Among infrastructural achievements, he cited the completion of a mosque and the construction of the Chapel of Victory for the Christian Fellowship within the Command.

The outgoing Sector Commander commended officers, marshals, and Special Marshals for their dedication, loyalty, and teamwork, describing his service in Osun as a “family experience.”

He urged personnel to uphold discipline, integrity, and professionalism, stressing that “discipline is the Corps’ oxygen and integrity its currency.”

Adegboyega also acknowledged the support of the Osun State Government under Ademola Adeleke, as well as collaboration with security agencies including the Nigeria Police, Nigerian Army, NSCDC, and DSS in ensuring road safety across the state.

He paid tribute to fallen officers, including Deputy Corps Commander Olusola Alade and Special Marshal Oluwaremilekun Sunday Oyedokun, for their contributions to the Corps.

In their response, heads of departments and senior officers of the Command praised Adegboyega’s leadership, describing his tenure as impactful and transformative.

They commended his commitment to staff welfare and professional development, noting that his legacy would endure within the Command.
Adegboyega will now oversee FRSC Zone RS12, comprising Bauchi, Borno, and Yobe States, in his new role as Zonal Commanding Officer.
