Osun COS Akinleye Pays Tribute to Ex-Governor Isiaka Adeleke on 71st Posthumous Birthday

Chief of Staff to Osun State Governor, Alhaji Kazeem Akinleye, has paid a glowing tribute to the departed first Governor of the state, Senator Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke (SERUBAWON), describing him as an iconic statesman whose legacy of compassion, humility, and people-centred leadership continues to inspire generations.

In a statement on Thursday to mark the 71st posthumous birthday of the former governor, Akinleye said Senator Adeleke’s life and service remain a guiding light for leadership in Osun State and beyond, even years after his passing.

He noted that the departed was not only a trailblazer as Osun State’s first civilian governor but also a leader whose governance style was anchored on empathy, courage, and an unwavering commitment to the welfare of the people.

“Today, we solemnly remember and celebrate the 71st posthumous birthday of a towering figure in the history of Osun State, Senator Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke (SERUBAWON). His leadership was defined by courage, compassion, and an unshakeable dedication to the wellbeing of the people,” Akinleye said.

According to him, the departed Adeleke exemplified the true essence of leadership as service, combining firmness with rare humility and generosity, while pursuing policies that promoted grassroots development and social inclusion.

Akinleye further described the deceased as a father figure, mentor, and benefactor whose philanthropy cut across political, religious, and socio-economic boundaries, touching countless lives within and outside Osun State.

He stressed that the enduring influence of Senator Adeleke continues to shape leadership ideals in the state, urging current and future leaders to uphold the values of justice, fairness, and selfless service that the late governor stood for.

“Though he is no longer with us, his spirit lives on in the lives he uplifted and the values he instilled. His name remains synonymous with integrity, humanity, and purposeful leadership,” he added.

Akinleye offered prayers for the repose of the statesman, asking Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him Al-Jannatul Firdaus.
