Osun commends ECEWS for partnership on health

Osun State Health Commissioner, Mr Jola Akintola, has commended the Excellence Community Education Welfare Scheme (ECEWS) for its outstanding partnership with the Ministry of Health, particularly in managing HIV and AIDS.

Akintola who gave the commendation during the presentation by ECEWS’s State Program Manager (SPM) in Osun, held at the Public Health Emergency Operation Center, Ministry of Health, Osogbo acknowledged that the donation would go a long way in alleviating the workload of scientists.

Commissioner stated: “Your partnership with us will propel Osun State forward in the health sector. We assure you that we will make effective and responsible use of these donated items.”

Special Adviser to the Governor on Public Health, Dr Akindele Adekunle also recognized ECEWS’s efforts in elevating the health sector in the State.

In his welcome address, Dr. Isiaka Adekunle, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, appreciated ECEWS for it’s generous donation of centrifuges, highlighting the relief it would bring to scientists in various health facilities. He assured that the scientists would uphold the quality of results from the use of these facilities.

Dr. Akeem Bello, Director of Public Health, extended gratitude to ECEWS for it’s unwavering support, noting that this would not be the first time the organization would be providing valuable assistance to the State.

Dr. Oluwaseunfunmi Adefiranye, the State Program Manager of ECEWS, listed the eight facilities benefiting from the donation to include: State Specialists Hospital Asubiaro, ila- Oragun State Hospital, State Hospital Ilesa, General Hospital ijebu-jesa, General Hospital OKe-Ogbo and Primary Health care cienter Olode, Wesley Guild OAUTHC, OKe Ola Catholic Hospital and Maternity as well.

Dr. Adefiranye clarified that the equipment was also intended to support the HIV project in the State.
