As Osun State marks its 34th anniversary, Governor Ademola Adeleke has called on all stakeholders, citizens, traditional institutions, civil society, and the private sector to work in unity for the continued growth and progress of the state.

In a statewide broadcast to commemorate the occasion, he described the anniversary as both a moment of pride and deep reflection.

He noted that Osun’s creation on August 27, 1991, was the result of decades of relentless struggle, advocacy, and sacrifice by visionary leaders who championed the cause of self-determination.

“Today, we honor those who fought tirelessly for our identity,” Adeleke stated. “Their sacrifices remain the bedrock of the Osun we cherish today. Their dream was of a land where fairness, opportunity, and progress would flourish—a dream we remain committed to fulfilling.”

The Governor outlined key achievements of his administration across critical sectors:

Infrastructure: Construction of roads, expansion of rural electrification, and provision of potable water across all 332 wards of the state.

Healthcare: Implementation of statewide medical outreaches, renovation of over 200 primary healthcare facilities, and increased enrollment in the Osun Health Insurance Scheme.

Economic Empowerment: Consistent payment of workers’ salaries, support for farmers through subsidized inputs, institutional reforms to enhance accountability, and empowerment of small-scale enterprises.

Education & Youth Development: Investments in education, cultural preservation efforts, and numerous youth empowerment programs.

Despite the challenges facing the state, Governor Adeleke reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to building a strong, inclusive, and prosperous Osun.

“The Osun of our dreams is one where no citizen is left behind,” he emphasized. “But this vision can only be achieved when government and citizens work hand in hand—with honesty, dedication, and love for our homeland.”

Adeleke made a firm pledge to uphold transparency, accountability, and people-centered governance. He urged every stakeholder to actively contribute to deepening development, reinforcing unity, and embracing the Omoluabi ethos—Osun’s guiding principle of integrity, discipline, and community service.

“With unity, resilience, and the spirit of Omoluabi, we will build a greater Osun,” he said.
