Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has criticized the Chairman of the Osun State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Ibukun Fadipe, over a reported court action seeking to restrain security agencies from investigating him in connection with the death of Ade Komolafe.

In a statement issued by its Director of Media and Information, Mogaji Kola Olabisi, the party described the legal move as “curious, revealing, and deeply troubling,” noting that while every citizen has the constitutional right to seek judicial redress, such action raises serious concerns.

The APC argued that Fadipe’s attempt to preemptively block security agencies from carrying out their statutory responsibilities casts doubt on his claims of innocence, stressing that individuals with nothing to hide should not fear investigation.

According to the statement, the decision to approach the court in a bid to halt any form of inquiry suggests an effort to avoid scrutiny and, in its view, heightens public suspicion surrounding the circumstances of Komolafe’s death.

The party also called for a thorough review of a legal document titled Legal Advice No. CR/03/2010, allegedly issued by the Osun State Ministry of Justice in June 2010, citing what it described as inconsistencies and possible attempts at a cover-up.

It urged law enforcement agencies, including the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS), and the Nigeria Immigration Service, to conduct a comprehensive, impartial, and professional investigation into the matter.

The APC maintained that no individual is above the law and warned against any attempt to obstruct justice, emphasizing the need for transparency and accountability in the interest of public confidence.

“If Fadipe is indeed innocent as he claims, he should submit himself to due process and allow the appropriate authorities to establish the truth. Seeking judicial cover to evade investigation only deepens suspicion and undermines public trust,” the statement read.

Reaffirming its commitment to the rule of law, the party urged all stakeholders to respect the integrity of Nigeria’s institutions and allow justice to take its full course.
