Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has faulted Governor Ademola Adeleke over his criticism of what the party described as an “imaginary” economic blueprint allegedly authored by its governorship candidate for the August 8, 2026 election, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO).

It said the governor’s remarks were driven by envy and fear of an impending electoral defeat, insisting that no such economic blueprint has been released by its candidate.

In a statement issued in Osogbo on Monday, the party’s Director of Media and Information, Mogaji Kola Olabisi, described the claim by Governor Adeleke, who is the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Accord Party, as a deliberate attempt to malign AMBO.

According to Olabisi, the alleged economic blueprint exists only in the imagination of the governor and his associates, adding that the narrative was concocted to discredit the APC candidate ahead of the forthcoming governorship election.

“Even assuming, without conceding, that AMBO has prepared an economic blueprint, he possesses the educational background, experience, and exposure required to clearly articulate policies capable of correcting the numerous verifiable failures of the Adeleke administration,” the statement read.

The APC spokesman further stated that whenever AMBO decides to unveil his economic blueprint, it would be done with ease, noting that governance and economic planning are familiar terrains to the APC candidate.
Olabisi also alleged that Governor Adeleke has become a subject of ridicule due to what he described as the governor’s inability to effectively run the state, claiming that governance is being conducted by proxy through family members.

He said the people of Osun State are no longer deceived, stressing that residents are increasingly dissatisfied with what he termed the lies and propaganda that have characterised the current administration over the past three years.

“The fear being exhibited by Governor Adeleke and his allies is a result of their awareness of the glaring inefficiency of this administration, which has made its defeat in the 2026 governorship election inevitable,” Olabisi stated.

The APC maintained that the governor’s conduct reflects a loss of confidence, attributing it to what the party described as poor governance, policy inconsistency, and lack of a clear economic vision.

The party further accused the Adeleke administration of running the affairs of the state by impulse rather than through a defined economic framework, alleging that this has negatively affected socio-economic development in Osun State.

Olabisi congratulated the people of the state on the emergence of AMBO as the APC governorship candidate, describing him as a man of solid educational background, professional experience, and political competence needed to govern a complex state like Osun.

He added that the governor’s claim that AMBO has already released an economic blueprint was another “official gaffe” and urged the public to disregard it.
The APC concluded by assuring residents that whenever AMBO is ready to unveil his economic blueprint, it will be done openly and transparently, and not through speculative narratives allegedly being circulated by political opponents ahead of the August 8, 2026 governorship election.
