Osun Amotekun Corps Commander, Dr. Adekunle Omoyele has bagged the 2024/25 Distinguished Noble and Security Expert of the Year award.
He has also been presented with the esteemed Living Hero of Security World award.
An Abuja based non governmental body,
the Life Value Awareness and Leadership Secure Initiative (LIVALSI), gave him the double awards at the state’s Amotekun corps head office in Osogbo, the state capital.
They were in recognition of his outstanding contributions to security and exceptional leadership within a short time of his appointment.
The ceremony was attended by Amb. Musibau Oladipo, President of LIVALSI, who praised the Osun Amotekun Corps for its role in combating crime in the Southwest, particularly in Osun State.
He commended Omoyele’s proactive leadership and collaborative approach with various stakeholders to effectively tackle crime and maintain security in the region.
Also, he highlighted the Corps’ major successes in addressing ritual killings and other organized criminal activities.
Oladipo stressed the importance of celebrating impactful leaders while they are still alive, noying that the recognition of Omoyele’s dedication is meant to inspire others.
He also acknowledged the support of the state government for providing vital resources, such as a state-of-the-art headquarters, to help the Corps succeed in its mission.
In his speech, Oladipo declared, “It is with great honor that we gather today to celebrate a leader whose contributions to security have been invaluable. Dr. Omoyele, you are a living legend and a beacon of dedication to both your state and country.”
Omoyele’s profile is marked by significant achievements in security leadership.
His innovative approaches and close collaboration with other security agencies have contributed to the substantial reduction of crime rates in Osun State, including issues like banditry, ritual killings, and conflicts with Fulani herders.
His leadership has played a key role in fulfilling the security promises made by Governor Ademola Adeleke.
The event also featured heartfelt tributes from senior officers of the Osun Amotekun Corps Field Commander, Commander Olusoji Akanni, who expressed his gratitude for Omoyele’s transformative leadership, highlighting the peace and order now prevalent in Osun State under his command.
Mrs. Omitade, Director of Accounts, also praised Omoyele’s dedication and the positive influence he continues to have on the Corps.
In his acceptance speech, Omoyele thanked LIVALSI for the recognition and dedicated the award to the officers of the Osun Amotekun Corps.
He also expressed appreciation for the support of Governor Adeleke, whose efforts in providing resources and expanding the Corps’ operational capacity have been instrumental to their success.
He reaffirmed his commitment to the continued safety and security of Osun State, vowing to build upon the progress made and to set new standards for excellence in security leadership.
