Osun Amotekun begins recruitment screening Monday

Amotekun Corps in Osun State will begin recruitment screening on Monday next week.

Specifically, the exercise, meant to boost its workforce , will hold between Monday, March 3 and  Friday, March 7, 2025, at the Amotekun Headquarters located in the Powerline Area along Ikirun Road, Osogbo.

In a statement by its spokesman, Yusuf Idowu Abass, the corps said the screening is meticulously organized to accommodate applicants from various local government areas on specified dates.

Following is the time table:

  • Monday, March 3, 2025, 7:00 am: Ilesa West, Ilesa East, Atakumosa East, Atakumosa West, Oriade, and Obokun LGAs.
  • Tuesday, March 4, 2025, 7:00 am: Ife South, Ife East (including Area Office), Ife Central, Ife North, Isokan, and Irewole LGAs.
  • Wednesday, March 5, 2025, 7:00 am: Ayedaade, Ayedire, Olaoluwa, Iwo, Ejigbo, and Egbedore LGAs.
  • Thursday, March 6, 2025, 7:00 am: Ede North, Ede South, Ifedayo, Ila, Boluwaduro, and Odo-Otin LGAs.
  • Friday, March 7, 2025, 7:00 am: Ifelodun, Boripe, Orolu, Irepodun, Osogbo, and Olorunda LGAs.

He said applicants are mandated to present essential documents, including a Local Government Identification Certificate, National Identification Number (NIN)

Others include  Birth Certificate, Academic Certificates/Results, and any pertinent credentials such as Trade Test Certificates or a Driver’s License. Furthermore, a medical fitness test conducted at a government-owned hospital is required to ascertain the physical readiness of each candidate.

According to Abass, following the initial screening, a compulsory physical fitness assessment is slated for Saturday, March 8, 2025.

“This will involve a 1km race designed to evaluate the endurance and physical capabilities of the candidates. Participants are expected to don white shorts, a white round-neck shirt, and white sneakers for this exercise.

“The recruitment drive, which commenced on January 25, 2025, aims to enlist 1,000 new personnel to enhance the security framework of Osun State.

However ,the Corps Commander, Dr. Hon. Adekunle Isaac Omoyele, has emphasized that the selection process will be strictly merit-based, ensuring transparency and fairness throughout.

“All Applicants will undergo thorough verification of their credentials, physical fitness evaluations, and comprehensive medical examinations.

“This initiative underscores the Osun Amotekun Corps’ unwavering commitment to safeguarding the lives and properties of residents, reinforcing the state’s dedication to maintaining peace and security.”
