The Blue Movement has reaffirmed its unwavering loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC), declaring that the group never left the party but has remained active within its internal structures over the years.

Speaking at an event marking the formal celebration and reactivation of the Blue Movement, the Convener, Mr. Wale Alabi, said the gathering was organised to celebrate the growth of the movement and reposition it for the task ahead as the 2026 governorship election approaches.

“In the Blue Movement, we never left the APC. What we did was to belong to a structure within the party. For a very long time, we have been active and committed to party activities. Today, we are celebrating the creation of the Blue Movement and reactivating ourselves fully back into the party,” Alabi said.

He disclosed that the Blue Movement now boasts representatives across Osun State, with a membership strength running into thousands, stressing that the group is strategically positioned to deliver substantial votes for the APC.

“By the grace of God, we are building a system where one member of the Blue Movement can guarantee between five and ten votes. When you multiply that by our numbers across the state, you can clearly see the electoral strength we bring to the table,” he added.

Alabi expressed deep concern over the current state of governance in Osun, describing the administration as lacking competence and direction despite increased revenue inflows to the state.

“It is unfortunate that Osun State is being governed by someone who is not qualified even to function as a clerk in an establishment. This is the first time the state is receiving massive allocations from the federal government, including funds accruing from subsidy removal meant to cushion the effects on the masses. Sadly, what we see instead is wasteful spending and misplaced priorities,” he said.

According to him, the situation must change in 2026 to prevent further economic decline in the state.

Calling on the people of Osun to support the APC, Alabi said only progressive governance can guarantee sustainable development and economic prosperity.

“My message to the people of Osun is simple: we must bring progressives back to power. That is the only pathway to development, economic growth, and prosperity for our people,” he stated.

The Blue Movement convener also formally declared Asiwaju Munirudeen Oyebamiji as the group’s preferred candidate for the 2026 governorship election, citing his track record and performance in previous public offices.

“Asiwaju Munirudeen Oyebamiji is our choice. We believe in his record and in his capacity to deliver. Everywhere he has worked, he performed excellently. We are convinced that he is the leader who can restore Osun’s economic prosperity. The Blue Movement is here to win Osun back,” Alabi concluded.
