All Progressives Congress national secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru, has inaugurated the Alubarika Movement to anchor his aspiration for the Osun State governorship seat in the 2026 election.
The Alubarika Movement Mobilisers for Senator Ajibola Basiru held their inaugural meeting at the APC secretariat in Ilesa West.
Chaired by Hon. Folarin Fafowora, a former member of the Osun State House of Assembly, the meeting focused on grassroots mobilisation strategies to bolster support for Basiru’s governorship ambition, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 reelection campaign.
Basiru is seen as one of the leading contenders in the upcoming governorship election, scheduled for August 8, 2026.
Addressing attendees, Fafowora urged mobilisers to intensify efforts in spreading the message of the SRJ Project (Basiru’s campaign slogan) across polling units, wards, and communities throughout Ijesaland.
He described Basiru as a visionary leader with the legislative and executive experience needed to transform governance in Osun State.
Attendees at the inauguration reaffirmed their commitment to the APC and expressed strong confidence in the party’s victory in the 2026 election.
