A leading governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2026 Osun State election, Kunle Rasheed Adegoke, SAN, popularly known as K-RAD, has reaffirmed his commitment to transforming the state through integrated rural development and a thriving agricultural economy.

He vowed that through agricultural development, the state will witness a transformation that will provide food security and reduce unemployment among jobless youths across Osun.

Speaking during visits to Modakeke and Ifetedo, K-RAD stressed that rural communities, which form the backbone of Osun’s agricultural strength, must be prioritized in the state’s development agenda.

According to him, Osun’s sustainable prosperity depends on building a robust dairy and agricultural economy driven by empowered rural dwellers. His blueprint includes expanding rural infrastructure such as access roads, water supply, and electricity, as well as providing modern irrigation systems to enable all-season farming.

He plans to establish dairy clusters and livestock value chains focused on milk production and processing, enhance market access, and create rural-based agro-industries. Additionally, delivering quality healthcare and education to rural communities will be key to boosting productivity.

“When we invest in rural development, we are investing in the prosperity of Osun State. Our farmlands can feed our people, create jobs, and make Osun a dairy and agricultural powerhouse in Nigeria,” K-RAD declared.

He further elaborated on a household-based dairy model where each household owns at least two cows. Milk would be sold daily to itinerant collectors who pay on the spot and supply animal feed on a credit basis, to be repaid with raw milk.

“This model makes acquisition and ownership affordable. The basic requirements are a fenced plot, modest investment, and cooperative society membership,” he explained.

K-RAD noted that the program would boost crop production, with the government acting as the Buyer of Last Resort to prevent any farmer’s harvest from going to waste. Increased animal feed production will also create savings for households, not only in cash but in livestock assets — a strategy to help families preserve value and shield against inflation.

He believes this approach will significantly increase household wealth and position Osun as a model of rural transformation.

Aligning with global best practices, K-RAD stressed that agriculture and agribusiness remain vital pillars for inclusive growth and economic development.
