Two days after the National Convention of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, the Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, on Monday, met with former President Olusegun Obasanjo in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
Osinbajo, who is believed to be a Presidential aspirant had visited Ogun State for a high-level dialogue organised by the Coalition for Dialogue on Africa.
Though for now, he is keeping his aspiration under wraps, his supporters are already campaigning for the Vice President to contest the 2023 presidential election and succeed his boss, President Muhammadu Buhari, whose second term of office will epire in a matter of months.
The Vice President was received by the former president at a close door meeting, where it is believed that he would have discussed his presidential ambition with the former President, and sought his blessing.
The dialogue tagged, ‘West Africa: Rising to the Challenge of Consolidating Democratic Governance,’ was planned to be held at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Abeokuta, on Monday and Tuesday.
Osinbajo’s chopper landed within the premises of the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library at exactly 10:24am.
Escorted by the Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, and others, Osinbajo was later received by Obasanjo as they proceeded to the venue prepared for the meeting.
