OSEPA vows to enforce environmental impact regulations on waterways

Worried by the incessant pollution of the waterways in the coastal areas of Ondo State, the State Environmental Protection Agency, OSEPA, has constituted an enforcement team to address the situation.

This was contained in a statement by the Head Media & Information Services, ‘Bisi Agboola.

According to him, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Environment, Hon Oyeniyi Oseni, who led the team to Igbokoda, said the inhabitants of the coastal region must not be exposed to the imminent danger and hazards arising from the pollution.

The team visited the Naval personnel at Igbokoda, the military base at Okitipupa and the Police Area Command to solicit for support.

Oseni maintained that the agency is poised to reduce to the barest minimum the environmental pollution in the coastal area, and improve the health of its inhabitants with a view to promoting the blue economy of the area.
