OSCOED crisis panel begins sitting Monday

The panel set up by Governor Ademola Adeleke to look into the crisis rocking the Osun State College of Education, OSCOED, will begin sitting on Monday.

The panel will meet expectedly to make far-reaching recommendations on the issues in contention to assist the government in bringing about a lasting resolution.

Headed by the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Alhaji Kazeem Akinleye, the panel, concerned by the attitude of parties in the crisis has directed them to stop further media appearances on the issues in contention pending the conclusion of its assignment.

Also, it observed that aside from the undue personal attacks that the media appearances have generated, the Government is concerned about the damage to the integrity and reputation of the college.

Ahead of the Monday meeting, according to Mallam Olawale Rasheed, Adeleke’s Spokesperson, the panel assured the public of fairness and firmness in conducting its assignment.

The committee reiterated the Governor’s directive that there will be no cover-up and that no sacred cow scenario will be allowed.

It said the public should be rest assured that anyone found culpable will be referred to the appropriate authority for punishment.
