One killed in Osun motorcycle crash

One person has been confirmed dead while another sustained injuries in a lone motorcycle accident that occurred on Tuesday night at the Jagilegbo area of Ifetedo, Osun State.

The fatal crash, according to a First Incident Report issued by the spokesperson of FRSC, Agnes Ogungbemi, the unfortunate incident occurred at about 9:45 p.m. along the township route in the area.

Ogungbemi disclosed that two adult males were involved in the accident, which involved a single unregistered motorcycle.

“The motorcycle, a black TVS model, was reportedly ridden at high speed before the rider lost control and crashed,” the report stated.

She explained that one of the victims died on the spot due to the severity of the impact, while the second victim sustained varying degrees of injuries and was rushed to a nearby medical facility for treatment.

The remains of the deceased were later deposited at a morgue for preservation, while investigations have commenced to determine the exact cause of the accident.

Ogungbemi cautioned motorcycle riders against excessive speeding and urged them to always adhere to traffic regulations to prevent avoidable loss of lives.
