The State’s Working Committee of the Elders’ Council [SWC-EC], in Ondo State has commiserated with the family of a former Commissioner for Information in the State, Prince Olu Adegboro, on his passage.
Adegboro, who was also the Chairman of the State’s Working Committee of the Elders’ Council, died on Wednesday last week at 74.
During a condolence visit to the widow of the deceased, the Secretary of the State’s Working Committee of the Elders’ Council, Onibudo ‘Wole Iroaye, who led a delegation of the Council, said that the late politician lived an exemplary life; describing him as reliable, hard-working, loyal, honest and honourable.
The delegation included High Chief B.A. Akinnubosun; Chief Mrs Grace Animola; Alhaji I.A. Oloruntoba; Chief L.I.A. Rogbitan; and Hon. ‘Wale Akintimehin.
Iroaye said: “Mummy, The news of the demise of our own Prince Olu Adegboro, your darling husband and Chairman of the State’s Working Committee of the Elders’ Council in Ondo State came to us as a rude shock.
“It was never expected that he would go so soon as it has happened. As the wise saying goes, death will come when it’ll come. Only our Creator knows when it’ll happen to each and every one of us. Therefore, what’s important for us as human beings is to live a life worthy of emulation.
“In consequence of the above, I can say without mincing words that our father, the late Prince Olu Adegboro, lived an exemplary and fulfilled life capable of being built upon by those he has left behind.
“In his life’s time, he related well with people which pleasingly attracted attention by all and sundry. Baba Adegboro was a man of honour.
“He was reliable, hard-working, loyal, intelligent and transparent. In addition, he was a gentleman of note and a leader of unique personality and integrity.
“Interestingly, it was a thrill to have worked with him on many occasions in his existence. As the Chairman of the State’s Working Committee of the Elders’ Council, he led us with respect, honour and an uncommon dedication and absolute commitment.
“He was a straightforward leader who never for once took his followers for granted on issues. His leadership style was truly democratic. No doubt his death will forever be etched on our memory.
“Our consolation is that Prince Adegboro lived an exciting life which I believe will be a fount of inspiration to the family he has left behind.
“Our own late Prince Adegboro came, saw and conquered.
“Our prayer at this moment of grief is that the good Lord will grant the deceased man’s family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
“Adieu Baba Prince Olu Adegboro.”
