Ondo new Head of Service, Ogundele charges workers: Dedicate yourselves to duty

Ondo State new Head of Service, Hos, Pastor Kayode Olaniyi Ogundele has charged civil servants in the state to dedicate themselves to duty and be loyal to the government of the day.

He gave the charge during his official visit to the State Universal Basic Education (SUBEB), where he stressed that his appointment is to build on the success of his predecessors in term of quality service delivery.

A statement by the board’s Head, Press and Information Unit, ‘Bisi Agboola, said that the HoS urged workers to “make loyalty their watchword.”

According to the statement, Ogundele maintained that his administration will focus on how best to take the government to a higher level urging civil servants to give their maximum support at achieving a prime success.

Besides, he commended civil servants in the state for living above board in discharging their duties at their various duty posts.

Agboola said: “The Head of Service reiterated that some civil servants whose appointment awaits mainstreaming and regularization will receive attention in due course.”

Responding, SUBEB Chairman, Rt. Hon Victor Afolabi Olabimtan, who received Ogundele and his visiting team congratulated the Head of Service “for his credible past records which earned him the unique position.”

According to him, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu “knows how to reward dedication and loyalty.”

Olabimtan advised the pension board in the office of the HoS to seek how best to plan the payment of retirees in accordance to their retirement dates.

Earlier in his welcome remark, the Permanent Secretary of SUBEB, Chief ‘Dele Akinnagbe described the new HoS as “a man with sound mind who knows the civil service inside-out.”
