Ondo election: We won’t allow APC to rig – PDP’s Agboola Ajayi

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP candidate in the coming November 16 Governorship Election in Ondo State, Hon Agboola Ajayi, has assured that his party would not allow the ruling All Progressives Congress to rig the poll.

He spoke against the backdrop of the claim by the APC national chairman Abdullahi Ganduje that the ruling party at the state and federal levels would soon take over all the states in the South West.

Ajayi, a former Deputy Governor of the state spoke in Ikare Akoko the headquarters of Akoko North-East Local Government Area of the state, on Wednesday during a campaign tour of the Akoko area by the PDP train.

He urged the people of the state not to fear that the election would be rigged to prevent them from trooping out to exercise their franchise.

The governorship candidate assured the people that everything would be done to prevent any attempt to tamper with the outcome of the poll.

According to him “Nobody can rig this coming gubernatorial election as everything will be done to forestall such an action from anybody or group of persons.

While imploring the people to come out in large numbers on election day to vote for the PDP, Ajayi asked them to be vigilant and protect their votes.

He promised to construct a hinterland sea port at Ore before the end of his first term if elected in order to enhance economic activities in the ancient town.

Ajayi also vowed to transform the area into a modern city and commercial hub.

The PDP candidate reiterated his commitment to providing free medical care for the aged and children, enhancing security and ensuring infrastructure development and social welfare.

While addressing the gathering, in the Oyo state governor, Seyi Makinde, described the governorship election, as a turning point for Ondo state.

Makinde said the natural resources in Ondo were enough to take the citizens of the state from poverty to prosperity.

He urged the people to vote for Ajayi, describing him as the right candidate who could take the Sunshine State out of the woods.
