Ondo CP, Adie seeks religious leaders’ cooperation to combat insecurity

Ondo State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Undie Adie has called on religious leaders at all levels to continue to cooperate and work harmoniously with the country’s security operatives to subdue the worrisome menace of insecurity in the country.

Adie who was represented by the Area Commander, Ore Area Command, Mr. Olusegun Ajamolaya, an Assistant Commissioner of Police, ACP, stated this during the official commissioning of All Saints Police Chapel and Divisional Mosque, Ore.

He added that the State command believes in the efficacy of prayers and that was the reason the command gave the needed support for the building of the Chapel and the Mosque.

He said: “Our religious leaders should always pray for the police and other security agencies in the country for successful operation.

We need prayers to combat crimes in the society, so our officers should be closer to God.”

In his own contributions, The Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Ore, Mr. Fidelis Odey, a Chief Superitendent, CSP, urged the officers to use the chapel and mosque for their spiritual growth.

He noted that the challenges facing the police can only be tackled through prayers and commitment.

He advised men and women of the force to always  do their best in the overall interest of the people.

In his remarks, Chairman, Police Community Relations Committee, PCRC, Ore Division, Pastor Adedayo Ogundana, said that no leadership can be successful without efficient and effective followership.

He urged police officers to always  carry out their duties diligently to make the society a better place.

He dded that no nation can make meaningful impact when the citizenry live in constant fear for their lives and property.

Also speaking, Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Odigbo Local Government chapter, Rev. Wole Afolabi, said prayer is the solution to all societal problems.

He  admonished  all the security operatives to work in synergy, pray more and discharge their duties with the fear of God.

On his own, the Chief Imam of Ore, Alhaji Bisiriyu Raji Gbolahan stressed the need for both religions to inculcate the spirit of love, patience, understanding and tolerance to ensure peace and tranquility in the state and Nigeria in general.
