Ondo CJ pardons 18 inmates

Chief Judge of Ondo State, Justice Williams Akintoroye, has granted pardon to 18 inmates serving jail terms for major and minor offences such as murder, rape, conspiracy at various Nigerian Correctional Service in the State.

Justice Akintoroye granted the pardon when he made his first official visit to all Correctional Centres in the state.

He granted the pardon to both Awaiting Trial Inmates (ATI) and the convicted inmates (CM).

He urged the pardoned inmates to be of good conduct because they regained what he termed priceless freedom.

The Chief Judge tasked staff of the NCC to always ensure safety of all the custodial centres and facilities therein assured.

Controller of Corrections in the state, Mr Opeyemi Fatinikun, thanked the Chief Judge for his visit and assured that his men were on alert to forestall any attack.
