The Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria in  Ondo State, Rev. Fr. Anselm Olorunfemi Ologunwa, has enjoined Christians to be steadfast im love, and faith.

In his Easter message, he said,

*As we celebrate this blessed season of Easter, I greet you all in the matchless name of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

This sacred time reminds us of the ultimate sacrifice of our Lord on the cross, His triumphant resurrection, and the hope that it brings to every believer.

In these challenging times, both for our beloved country Nigeria and Ondo State, Easter carries a message of hope, renewal, and steadfast faith.

Our nation continues to face economic difficulties, security challenges, and social uncertainties that test our resilience and faith daily. Similarly, Ondo State, while blessed with abundant resources and a vibrant Christian community, is not immune to these trials.

Yes, indeed, it is precisely in moments like these that the power of Christ’s resurrection shines brightest, calling us to trust in His sovereignty and love.

As we celebrate the resurrection of Christ, let us be reminded that His love remains unwavering despite the storms around us. The empty tomb assures us that no situation is beyond God’s control, and no darkness can overshadow His light. I urge every Christian in Ondo State to remain steadfast in prayer, united in love, and committed to the work of the gospel.

Let us take note of the saying “Not everybody clapping for you truly loves you. But do good, love, help and stay kind because your reward is not in people but in God,” as simply and beautifully complementing the Easter celebrations by highlighting the essence of genuine faith and Christian character in a world that may not always appreciate or reciprocate our goodness.

In relation to the Easter, this statement reminds us that the love, acceptance, and approval of people are often fleeting and conditional. Just as Jesus faced rejection, betrayal, and misunderstanding—even from those closest to Him—so too might we encounter insincere applause or false admiration from others. The crowd that once hailed Jesus as King on Palm Sunday later called for His crucifixion. This underscores that human approval is uncertain and can be superficial.

However, the resurrection of Christ is centered on the profound truth that our ultimate reward and validation come not from people, but from God. Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross and His resurrection demonstrate God’s unconditional love and the promise of eternal reward for those who remain faithful, loving, kind, and good regardless of human response. It calls us to live with integrity and compassion, motivated by our relationship with God rather than by the desire for human approval.

In practical terms, this means that even when we face opposition, misunderstanding, or lack of appreciation, as a christian anywhere, we are encouraged to continue doing good, loving others selflessly, helping those in need, and remaining kind. Our actions should mirror Christ’s love and sacrifice, trusting that God sees our hearts and will reward us in His perfect time.

Thus, Easter encourage believers to focus on the eternal and divine approval of God. It reminds us that true Christian love and service are acts of faith, not popularity contests, and that the resurrection power of Christ strengthens us to persevere with hope, knowing our ultimate reward is secure in Him.

Dear brothers and sisters, let this Easter be a time of spiritual renewal and a rekindling of hope. May the joy of the resurrection fill our hearts and homes, and may the peace of Christ reign in Ondo State and throughout Nigeria.

Happy Easter to you all. May God bless Ondo State and our great nation, Nigeria, abundantly. Amen.”
