Succour has come the way of indigent students from the oil-rich Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State as a community-based charitable organisation, the Simeon Oladero Memorial Foundation, SOMF, is set to unveil this week Wednesday

Established in 2020, by Mr. Wole Omosuyi in honour of his late father, Mr Simeon Oladero Omosuyi of the Keja dynasty of Oke- Ipare community who died at 26 when his first, and only son, Wole was barely a year old as well as when he was on the verge of starting his higher education at Nigeria’s premier University, the University of Ibadan.

Also, the founder is using the platform to give back to the society having known where the shoe pinches, growing up.

Speaking of the foundation, Wole, a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, and philanthropist said: “It is set to help brilliant but indigent students, especially orphans and fatherless, and organise seminars to empower the youth in realising their potential and career, among others.”

He added that a six-man Board of Trustees has been constituted to oversee the affairs of the Foundation, assuring that a fair and transparent process would be carried out to determine the beneficiaries of the scholarship scheme, which would span through the university programme for students in the catchment area.

The Foundation would be officially unveiled this Wednesday at Williams Event Hall in Igbokoda, headquarters of Ilaje Local Government of Ondo State and will draw dignitaries from far and near, especially long associates, men and women of goodwill sharing the laudable vision with him.

The event is expected to also raise awareness on scholarship in education as a veritable tool to achieving dreams and aspirations of youths in the riverine communities and thus securing a brighter and prosperous future for them.
